• Everything in London is only a 15 min walk away

Another Big Ben view The thing I love most about my mom and my sister is we can all laugh at ourselves and our own individual character ‘flaws’. We all agree that we just don’t have very good luck in general and the only way to get through life is to laugh when things go all wrong. I’m known for my extreme sarcasm and bitchy-ness…..traits that my mom and sister love to tease me about. My mom, sister, and I all love giving each other a hard time about our experiences and quirks knowing that we all love each other and have a blast together. Let’s just be honest here…..the…

  • Jetlag-It’s better than Ambien!

Our last day in Paris was a little on the hard side. I think all of us kind of hit a wall and were ready to be done with France. I woke up around 7 (as usual) and got ready. I decided that I trying to blow dray my hair was now completely pointless as the weather appeared it could go either way. Mom and I were going to meet Susan at the cafe by our hotel and go to the catacombs and then finish the day at Père Lachaise Cemetery before catching the Eurostar to London at 4:00. Since Susan was working in Paris, mom and I were to spend…

  • I’m melting, I’m melting, I’m melting!

On the third day God created thunder in France! I was frightened out of bed by massive crackling thunder and lightning which I swear shook the building at 7:00 am. It was like an Arizona monsoon struck Paris. It was so humid outside and pouring rain but still 90 degrees. Keep in mind my mom and I have not had access to the outside world (no email, no internet, no Accuweather.com and no TV) for three days. So far it’s been hotter than hell with no clouds in sight, so imagine my shock when I wake up and it’s pouring rain outside. View from our hotel, you can’t tell but it…

  • Let those bitches eat cake-a day at Versailles

After a much needed night of sleep I woke up about 7:00 am Paris time. Susan, mom, and I were planning on spending the day at Versailles. Day I was a blur. The last thing I recall from my half drugged, half heat stroked brain was that we were planning on meeting Susan in front of our hotel around 9:00 am. I somewhat recalled that we were going to meet Susan at our hotel around 9:00 am.  View of cafe I was ready for the day to being and I decided to wash off the Paris grime by taking a shower. It took me about five mins to figure out how to…

  • Charles de Gaulle is the bane of my existence

This summer my mother and I went to France to see my sister. If you want the real ‘can’t make this shit up story’ then keep reading, if you want the sugar coated version, check out my sister’s blog. Our story begins with the pre-trip departure. The phrase ‘Anne, you really have planed the most awesome adventure for us’ will go down in infamy as the most cursed words ever. Mom and I stayed the night in Portland right by the airport, Thursday night so we wouldn’t have to get up at the crack of dawn. We woke up, had some coffee, and sauntered into the airport around 7:00 am. It…
