• Re-Post Review: More Than Words by Jill Santopolo

Last year I had the pleasure of reading Jill Santopolo’s novel, MORE THAN WORDS, and I thought it was an excellent story. Now the paperback is being released and I thought it would be a good time to re-share my review with you guys! It was an easy four star review for me and I thought about it long after I was finished with it. With Valentines Day just around the corner, now is as good a time as any to pick up this sexy romance, you won’t be disappointed! The paperback is out now so head to your local bookstore or favorite online book retailer today to secure your…

  • Review: An Everyday Hero (A Heart of a Hero #2) by Laura Trentham

Let me just put this out there right now, I don’t read a lot of military fiction or romances. While I love military history and have family that have served  and continue to serve in the military, it’s just not a genre that I ever think about picking up to read. Ever. No real reason why, I just simply don’t think of it. So why now? Here is the shallow answer—I loved the cover. Sure the cover lured me in, but I have to admit I was intrigued by the summary and I love Southern fiction and thought this one might be a diverting read. Plus, I love romances what…

  • Review: The Light After the War by Anita Abriel

Post WWII era books have become rather popular lately and while I haven’t read too many of them, I thought it would be good to get a few under my belt. I have read a lot of post WWI era books which I love, but I haven’t read too many post WWII era books and this one sounded like it would provide and interesting glimpse of life after the war and I thought I would enjoy seeing how these characters navigated the post war period. I liked that the story was based on real events as the author’s mother was a Holocaust survivor so I thought this book would really…

  • Review: Cartier’s Hope by M.J. Rose

I feel like I timed this read just right. I had just finished reading a Sebastian St Cyr mystery that featured the Hope Diamond or the French Blue and I was eager to read this one because it too featured the diamond I had been reading about. I have been a fan of M. J. Rose for a long time as well and it’s been a long time since I’ve read a book by her and as soon as I dove into this one, I remembered how much I loved her books and I can’t believe it’s been so long since I read one! If you have any interest in…

  • Review: The Country Guesthouse (Sullivan’s Crossing #5) by Robyn Carr

Robyn Carr was a new to my author a couple of years ago but once I picked up one of her books, I could immediately see why so many people enjoy her novels! Picking this book up in the dead of winter was a little depressing though, because I could practically feel the sun on my skin with this glowing beach style read! Even though the setting is in Colorado, it still reminded me of a fun read on a sunny summer day while I was passing some time at the beach, this is the sort of book that you want to pack with you on a lazy summer day.…

  • Review: Starborn (Born Prophecy #2) by Katie MacAlister

When this book came up for review, I quickly noticed that it was part of a series and with a fantasy novel, it’s so hard to skip around in the series, so I decided to read the first book before I picked this one up for review. I am glad I noticed that this was part of a series because I would have been so lost without that first book so if you haven’t read the first book, stop and read it before moving on to this one! When I read the first book there were a couple of small concerns I had going into this one, but not enough…

  • Review: The Little Bookshop on the Seine (The Little Paris Collection #1) by Rebecca Raisin

It’s the last day of the decade and I can’t believe a new year and decade is already here! I am closing out this year with a fun little romance number here that is set in Paris. This book wasn’t a hard sell for me. I mean come on…..a bookshop romance set in Paris with a little holiday flair? No brainer right there. Everything I hoped to get out of this book, I got. I hoped for romance, a happy ending, and a fun trip through Paris—check, check, check. I especially was looking forward to revisiting some of my favorite things about Paris with this one and I totally felt…

  • Review: Fireborn (Born Prophecy #1) by Katie MacAlister

This author is a new to me author, but she has written a number of other series that are paranomal romances. I was approached about reading her new release in this series, Starborn, and I wasn’t sure that it would work as a standalone so I asked to read the first book in the series first which was this one, Fireborn. Honestly I didn’t really know what to expect, I just knew that I liked the sound of Starborn and wanted to read it, but knew that in many fantasy books it’s difficult to jump around so I decided to start here. At just under 300 pages, this one was…

  • Review: 25 Days ‘Til Christmas by Poppy Alexander

As we headed into the holiday season, this book was all over my social media and the adorable cover had my name all over it! It sounded so great and I wanted to read it. I had it on hold at my library but at as December loomed closer, it became clear that I would likely not get this book until some time next spring. One of my favorite IG bookstagramers, Saturday Nite Reader, happened to post a photo of this book and I comment on in and like a Christmas miracle, she gifted me this book! I was to thrilled and started it immediately when it arrived!

  • Review: The Glittering Hour by Iona Grey

Sometimes I get pitched books months and months in advance and sometimes I simply forget a title until I pull up my calendar for the following month to see what I have coming up to read. That’s what happened with this book. I pulled up my December calendar…..the day after I made my Book of the Month selection for December. If you guys didn’t know, this book was a Book of the Month pick for December and Evie Dunmore who wrote Bringing Down the Duke (one of my favorite read of the year) recommended it so before I could look at my upcoming calendar, I selected this one and was…
