Nothing catches my eye like a quirky book. Not only did this title sound odd and quirky but the summary did as well. I mean, the main character’s husband dies and she just keeps right on going like nothing ever happened. If that doesn’t say odd then I am not sure what does. Special Feature and Excerpt: New Girl in Little Cove by Damhnait Monaghan
I love books about small towns, especially if they contain a romance. I thought this one sounded fun, a little bit of a forbidden romance set in a small town sounded like just the thing for summer reading. I also loved that there was a Catholic element to this story which I thought would be fun to see how it translated in the book. This one also sounded like it was going to be funny. Can it even be summer without a new Mary Kay Andrews book? The answer is no—no it cannot! I started reading some of MKA’s books a couple of years ago and they are always good as a beach read or a quick read on a plane on the way to your latest vacation destination! This is my first ever Ann Garvin book but I have certainly seen her other books on best seller lists and I was interested in checking this one out. This was a books that I was kind of ‘meah’ about when I read the description. It didn’t grab me in the way that I was expecting. This is my second novel by Victoria Schade and I have absolutely fallen in love with her novels! They are light hearted reading with romance and tons and tons of sweet dogs!
