I recognized this cover art almost immediately when the book came across my desk for review! When I randomly picked up the first book in this series a few years ago, I knew I was reading something special. I read a few of the earlier Verlaque and Bonnet mysteries and one of the things that stands out about the series as a whole is how sophisticated they feel. I have been a long time fan of all Anna Lee Huber’s books, but the Lady Darby series stands out as a favorite of all her books.
