To say that I love Kristy Woodson Harvey is a slight understatement! I adore her! I have loved all of her books and I have been looking forward to this one for quite a while. Special Feature: A Most English Princess: A Novel of Queen Victoria’s Daughter by Clare McHugh
Queen Victoria is hands down my favorite British Queen. Not only was she an interesting and powerful ruler, but her romance and marriage with Prince Albert was decidedly romantic and I just can’t get enough of it. But I will admit that I know little about her children other than she had tons and tons of children who eventually went on to wed other powerful rulers in Europe. When I saw that this book was coming out, I jumped on it. It sounds so interesting to me even if it is more fictional than non fiction. I couldn’t fit it into my review calendar for the month but I am…

Review: Before the Crown by Flora Harding
Not only is this cover absolutely breathtaking, but the story sounded excellent as well. But in all honesty, it was the cover that captured my attention and made me want to read this one! Thanks to shows like The Crown, royals and Queen Elizabeth have been getting a lot of attention and focus. In The Crown though we don’t get too much background on the early years of Princess Elizabeth so that’s why this one excited me so much. This book promised to shed some light on the romance between Phillip and Elizabeth and I was absolutely here for it!

Review: A Dangerous Duet (Victorian Mystery #1) by Karen Odden
Karen Odden is an author I have had on my radar for a while but I just never seem to pick up any of her books. Well that changed when I was asked to read the second book in the Victorian Mystery series. I thought I had better read the first book in the series before jumping into the second book, so I ordered this one and dove right in! As many of you know, I never met a historical mystery that I didn’t like—ok well maybe there were a couple, but by and large, I love historical mysteries and I love discovering new heroines and heroes to admire.

Review: The Killings at Kingfisher Hill (New Hercule Poirot Mysteries #4) by Sophie Hannah
Is there really any debate about Agatha Christie being the queen of mysteries? I have only read a couple of her books and have enjoyed them very much but there is also a dated quality about them which was one of the reasons that I was excited to read this ‘New Hercule Poirot’ mystery from Sophie Hannah. I haven’t read any of the ‘new’ Hercule Poirot mysteries before but I am familiar with his eccentric character and was really looking forward to this one. One thing that grabbed my attention was that it had some hints of one of Christie’s classic novels, Murder on the Orient Express, so I was…

Hester Fox has quickly become a favorite author of mine. I have read all of her books and every fall I look forward to a new release. I can’t say enough good things about her books and am so thrilled to be sharing a bit about this upcoming book today. I will be reading it in October and this excerpt is tempting me so much to abandon my current read in favor of this one. I hope you enjoy this excerpt as much as I did and be sure to check this one out…

Review: The Forgotten Kingdom (The Lost Queen Trilogy #2) by Signe Pike
The Lost Queen was one of my favorite reads of last year and I raved about it to everyone I knew. Not to mention I gave it to all my friends and family as a Christmas present too. So it’s easy to say that I had this next book on my TBR the instant I was done with the first book. The second it was available on Netgalley, I downloaded it and started reading. Not going to lie, this one took me a lot longer to read than I was anticipating. Not because it was bad (not at all!) I just started it at a time when I was busy…
