• Review: Interview with the Vampire (The Vampire Chronicles #1) by Anne Rice (Audible Edition)

I have had Interview with a Vampire on my TBR list for YEARS. The 1994 film was a favorite of mine and I was eager to read the books when I was older. My sister and mom gave me the book on more than one occasion to read but it just never felt like the right time, but for some reason, after Halloween this year felt like that right time. That was when I started this audiobook…..early Nov and here it is the first part of Jan and I am just now finishing it. Simon Vance was the narrator and he did a fabulous job with the narration, but I…

  • Review: The Widow of Rose House by Diana Biller

Please excuse me while I fangirl so hard over this book! The cover alone threatened to send me into a swoon. It’s perfection and I love it so much. I would have read the book for the cover alone, but the title—lord the title promised a perfect gothic romance which was exactly what I have been in the mood for lately! When I cracked this one open, I couldn’t wait for the glory that was promised between the pages and what glory it was! Spoiler—I absolutely adored this book and can’t wait to read more by this author!

  • Review: The Widow of Pale Harbor by Hester Fox

I discovered Hester Fox last year with her debut novel, The Witch of Willow Hall, and thought it was marvelous. When I saw that she had another haunting novel coming out, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! I even saved it as my special October/Halloween feature! It was released in the middle of September, and even though I wanted to start reading it right away, I also wanted to set the mood because her books demand it so I saved it for October! Before we get down to this book, let’s talk for a minute about the cover! How unbelievably beautiful is this cover? I love this…

  • Review: Secrets of the Lighthouse by Santa Montefiore (Audible Edition)

Santa Montefiore is an author that has popped up on my radar on and off again over the last few years. I have seen her books popping up on my Goodreads recommendations and social media over the years and always plan on reading one of her books but she is a prolific writer and just wasn’t sure where to start. I wanted something good that would captivate me right away but I just wasn’t sure where to begin. A few months ago, I nabbed this book from my local used book store—mostly for the cover. The cover is divine lets just all agree on that please! But I shelved it…

To say that I was exited to get this book in the mail is an absolute understatement. I actually squealed in excitement when I opened this book up! Christine Trent is an author I have had on my radar forever it seems like. When her Lady of Ashes series first came out, I tried to win a copy for months to no avail. It is the second book in a series, but…

  • Review: The Invited by Jennifer McMahon

I recently discovered Jennifer McMahon as an author just this last fall/winter. I know that she has a number of fans but to be honest—ghost stories freak me out and I rarely read them. However, during the fall/winter, I saw that there was an Instagram group that was reading her novel, The Winter People, and though I didn’t participate in the reading group, I was nevertheless intrigued by the cover of the book and summary. So I ended up reading it and absolutely fell in love with her prose and plot. While I was honest to god scared while reading The Winter People, I didn’t think that it was so…
