Special Feature and Excerpt: The Night Swim by Megan Goldin
Few genres offer as page turning excitement like thrillers. Sure I love a good romance, but when it comes to a quick engrossing read that is sure to entertain me, I almost always go fr a thriller This book sounds so promising and this excerpt peaked my interest and I can’t wait to continue reading this one once I get through a few other books. I love thrillers and have recently started picking them up more and more during this strange time. Not to mention my book club is all about murder mysteries and thrillers so this might be a contender book for this fall as it sounds like a…

Review: Bronte’s Mistress by Finola Austin
I have been looking forward to this book all summer long. It has been on my radar since the spring and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and start reading. I absolutely love the Brontes and a book like this just sounded so incredible! Not to mention that cover is totally giving me all the heart eyes. What I was most excited for in this novel was that it would explore the story of the Bronte’s brother rather than the famous and talented sisters. It screamed new and exciting for me and since this is the author’s debut novel, it was just begging to be read and…

Special Feature: Little Disasters by Sarah Vaughan
This book is one that I am so excited to share with you all on a personal level. Not only does it sound like it’s going to tackle some big issues that women face but the author’s own personal story about how she came to write this book is so memorable! You will have to keep reading to see what I mean about the author’s own story down in an article that I included from Publisher’s Weekly. The article is outstanding and really captures the excitement of this novel. She sounds like she has been through so much and that it was important for her to get the details of…

Review: The Girl from Vichy by Andie Newton
Last year I read Andie Newton’s debut novel, The Girl I Left Behind, and I loved it. After reading that debut, I was so excited to see what she came up with next. Newton is a strong and rising voice in the historical fiction genre so when I saw this was her next book, I couldn’t wait to check it out! Not only is this cover absolutely stunning, but the summary sounded incredible. Obviously I am a big fan of historical fiction and I am always looking for a new and exciting author’s to watch and this author is right up there at the top of my up and coming…

Special Feature and Excerpt: The Dazzling Truth by Helen Cullen
A story set on an island off the coast of Ireland? Umm yes please! This story sounds like it’s going to be full of romance and self discovery and all set in Ireland. That to me was the cherry on top. This is a new to me author but I couldn’t be more excited to share about this book and also add it to my TBR. Full of tragedy and romance and yet wrapped up in a heart warming book, this one has been getting rave reviews and if you are looking for something that provides a bit of an escape then this one might be fore you. Be sure…

Special Feature and Author Interview: Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff
If Lovecraft Country hasn’t been on your radar by now, it should be. Not only is it about the be a big HBO series, produced by some big names like J.J. Abrams, but it’s also incredibly relevant to current events and racial climate in our country. Tomorrow night is the premier and you better believe I am watching it tomorrow night after the kiddo goes to sleep! What really catches my eye about this one is that it’s a horror story set in Jim Crow America. Having officially made horror part of my regular reading rotation, this book came at just the right time for me. With themes of racism…

Have you ever fantasized about what it would be like to win the lottery? Let’s be real, we all have thought about it at one point or another especially when we see those huge Powerball numbers. Excerpt: Bronte’s Mistress by Finola Austin
To say that I am a Bronte fan is the biggest understatement of the year. When I saw that this book was coming out, I couldn’t wait. That feels like a horrible understatement itself but the anticipation was at a fever pitch for me! The cover is to die for and the premise of this book sounds so promising. I am reading it later this month and will get a review up here once I am done, but for now since the book is releasing this week, I am thrilled to offer you guys a little sneak peak with this lovely excerpt. If you love the Bronte’s as much as…

Cover Reveal: SURVIVING SAVANNAH by Patti Callahan
I had the pleasure of reading my very first ever Patti Callahan book last year called Becoming Mrs Lewis, I went on to read another of her books and loved both. I cannot wait to read this one and if this cover isn’t taking your breath away then I am shocked! I don’t even need to read the book summary to know that I am in love with this book already. That cover is stunning and it sounds like a new and untold story. Today I have the cover reveal as well as a bit about the book, a Q & A with the author and of course there is…

Special Feature: Little Falls by Elizabeth Lewes
I love mystery novels and whodunnits and so much the better if its a fast paced thriller. This debut mystery novel from Elizabeth Lewes has a ton to recommend itself. One of the things that really jumped out at me was the setting. I live in the Pac NW (Oregon) and this book is set in Eastern Washington—so basically neighbors. I love books (especially mystery thrillers) that are set in small rural towns. Small town America is often praised as the idyllic so having a murder mystery set there really takes that traditional troupe and spins it on its head. This one has also received a lot of advanced praise…
