Special Feature: Giving the Gift of an E-Book

Still trying to figure out what to get the reader in your life? Why not an e-book?

What’s that you say? You don’t know how to gift an e-book? Well you need not fear, gifting someone an e-book is simple!

My friends over at Open Road Media have put together a fantastic ‘how to guide’ about giving e-books for the holidays that I thought I would share with you! Since WordPress.com is lame and I can’t embed JavaScript, I’m going to include a link to their website here so you can watch the video. Not a video person? Here is an easy step by step guide for the reader in us all about gifting an e-book.

Open Road Media is one of my fav places to purchase e-books from. They have a variety of books to choose from so that means they will likely have something for even the most difficult person to buy for on your list!

Not to mention, For the next three weeks shoppers can choose holiday gifts from the thousands of ebooks in their catalog. They even have special features and suggestions for everyone on your list from “the romantic” and “the geek” to “the culture buff ” and “the kids.”

The best part though….they have an ongoing “steals and deals” selection featuring gifts under $5. Shoppers can watch the videos to quickly learn exactly how to give an ebook across major online stores, then scroll through to find ebooks that make excellent holiday gifts!

For the romantic on your list I recommend Cashelmara by Susan Howatch or My Heart’s Desire by Andrea Kane. Have a history fan on your list? Then why not look at A Barcelona Heiress by Sergio Vila-Sanjuan.

There are loads of books for the literary fan in your life as well….I have a couple of books that I am dying to read from Open Road Media in the coming weeks: Justine by Lawrence DurrellPenmarric by Susan Howatch, and The Gold Coin and The Silver Coin both by Andrea Kane. Needless to say, the list goes on and on.

One of reasons why I love e-books so much is that they are convenient. For example, I’ve seen the book The Brontës, Wild Genius on the Moors: The Story of Three Sisters by Juliet Barker in stores but it’s almost 1000 pages long. Why would anyone want to lug that giant book around? When I saw that Open Road Mediahad it as an e-book, I was delighted! I went out a got myself a copy from them and I am also planning on gifting an e-book copy to a friend of mine for the holidays….it will make a great gift for fans of biographies and non-fiction, as well as any English Lit fans on you list.

So basically what I’m trying to say is don’t let the idea of gifting an e-book intimidate you! Open Road Media makes it easy to shower the literary fan on your list with books galore!
