Review: Lost, Found, and Forever by Victoria Schade

This is my second novel by Victoria Schade and I have absolutely fallen in love with her novels! They are light hearted reading with romance and tons and tons of sweet dogs! The adorable doggies on the cover just get me every time and this one is no different. I jumped at this one because it sounded too cute and that dog on the cover was screaming ‘read me!’.

By Schade’s books are more than just adorable dogs on the cover, I have really loved the romances that are woven into the story. This one was especially tender and adorable. I fell in love with Griffin about as fast as Justine! He was so charming and thoughtful.

If you love romances in the vein of movies like Must Love Dog, this is an author that you absolutely need on your radar! I am 100% a dog person, but anyone who loves animals will enjoy how predominant they are featured in the story. The animals take on roles of their own and I loved learning about dog handling and training throughout the story. Fetch this one on your TBR immediately!

Review: The Women of Chateau Lafayette by Stephanie Dray

This book has been long awaited. It’s been on so many ‘most anticipated’ lists and receiving a ton of hype which normally would make me a little wary, but not going to lie, I have been excited for this one since I participated in the cover revel last spring! The cover plus the multigenerational story of a stunning French chateau sounded too promising to pass up.

I also read Stephanie Dray’s, My Dear Hamilton , a couple of years ago and was impressed with Dray’s historical research and writing. Dray has written a number of historical fiction novels and contributed her skills to other compilations. Some of her stories are more ancient history while her other more notable works are American history, this is her first historical fiction novel set during this period in Europe/France.

But her novel about Eliza Hamilton was wonderful and it stood out as a well researched women’s fiction set in a historical period. That’s what made me even more excited to read this one. I love how Dray gives voice to women in history. She does a brilliant job and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one!

Special Feature: The Bookstore on the Beach by Brenda Novak

There is something about summer beach reads season that never takes me by surprise! Usually around the beginning of March I start getting all the info on spring reads and beach reads. Unlike October when I start getting all the Christmas reads (which I am never ready for in October!), beach reads season is one that never sneaks up on me and is always welcome!

In Oregon, March is still relatively rainy, cold and often there is still a chance for snow. Last week it was a high of 40 and rainy, by the weekend it was sunny and 60. Right about now is the time I start longing for warm days and easy reads! Which is why I am looking forward to this upcoming novel from Brenda Novak! Novak is a prolific writer with loads of both holiday and beach reads under her belt!

I cannot wait for this one and am looking forward to escaping into a small beach town with all the romance and charm Novak is known for! Today I have an excerpt of this lovely read and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Special Feature: Goodnight Sweetheart by Pam Weaver

Do you like emotional reads? I have to be in the mood for them but I also really them when I do read them. This new release if full of emotion and romance all set in WWII which offers a dramatic backdrop to this novel. When I saw the cover I was instantly intrigued by it and I thought that it was eye catching and promised a complex tale within its pages.

I haven’t read anything by author Pam Weaver before but early reviews of this book are high and full of praise for her writing style. While this one promises a lot of emotion, it also promises a love story and I am always eager to read a solid war time romance. So all these things made me excited to read this one!

It sounds like the characters in this one are going to face adversity in their romance and this will be a story of how they overcome that adversity. I am so excited to check this one out especially since it has a lot of drama and the romance seems compelling. It is out now and today I am sharing all the little details of this one and hope that you take a look and add this one to yourTBR.

Special Feature: Eternal by Lisa Scottoline

Spring time is the hot time for all the upcoming new historical fictions releases! My TBR list always seems to double from late February/early March until about the end of April. I simply love historical fiction and author Lisa Scottoline has written a number of novels which makes me even more excited for this one!

The one thing that drew me to this historical fiction was the setting. So many historical fiction novels are set during WWII and it’s typically in France or England, which mades sense right? Since France and England was where all the fighting was mostly happening. But there is a whole other area that was greatly impacted by the war too…..Italy.

This book is set in Italy and is based on true events. This book sounds like it’s going to focus more on the rise of Mussolini and fascism as war threatens the country. It sounds like it’s going to be an impactful novel with loads of historical details to recommend itself and I am so here for it. I cannot wait to read this one! It is out now so if historical fiction is your thing be sure to get this one on your radar!
