Wallis Simpson is the woman that I love to hate. Having read some books about her over the years (non fiction and fiction), I have jut formulated my opinion of her and I came to the conclusion that I just don’t like her—she seemed like an opportunist.
But at the same time there is something terribly romantic about a king giving up his throne—the thing he had devoted his entire life to—just to marry the woman he loves. There is power in that story for sure.
This novel isn’t just another Wallis Simpson story though. Before Wallis there were surely women that caught the future king’s eye and this is the story of that woman. I am so excited to share about this book and an excerpt with you guys today! I can’t wait to start reading this one! This book was a Book of the Month pick a couple of months ago, but I had gone with another book. Then after all the books shipping, it was all over my social media and people were raving about it.
I have never read anything by Jo McNally but I am very familiar with her name. McNally is a prolific writer of romances and I see her books often at the local bookstore and supermarkets.
Mimi Matthews is another author who has been placed firmly on my auto buy/read list!
