If you haven’t figured out by now, I am a HUGE Susan Mallery fan! She has written so many books though and I haven’t been able to read every single one but man does she write some fun books! Her books are always uplifting but full of heart, drama, and romance which makes for wonderful beach reading. But here’s the thing with Mallery—I never feel like I am reading ‘fluff’.

Her books have well written characters with lots to relate to and enjoy. I always feel a solid connection with her characters and the stories have enough to keep me interested and invested in the plot. She is clearly a successful writer for a reason—she knows how to hook people into a good story! I cannot WAIT for this latest book by Mallery. I have it all ready to go on my iPad when I am in Cabo this summer! Nothing like reading a Mallery beach read ON the beach!

I have only read one of Jennifer Weiner’s books but I thought it was absolutely wonderful and such a fun little summer read! Her books are usually about family drama with some humor—I love the balanced blend of humor and seriousness. It really makes for a fun, quick, and refreshing read! When I saw that she had this one coming out, naturally I was interested in it!

What drew my eye is that it gave a nod to the pandemic which I think will make the book relevant and relatable for readers. I know a lot of authors have shied away from writing the pandemic into their stories for a number of reasons, but I like that Weiner decided to include it in some way in this latest book. I am sure the pandemic is not the focus of the book, but I liked that the main character’s step daughter gets engaged to her pandemic boyfriend and that is the catalyst for the story. Personally I think it adds relevance and something for readers to immediately connect with!

Weiner is known for writing wonderful beach reads and she has a large fan following. As a tried and tested author, I know that her books are quality and always a fun read! This book promises family drama, secrets, and a romance the perfect formula for a beach read. If you are looking for something to read on vacation this year, check out this seasoned author for a quick and easy escape!

RaeAnne Thayne has been a long time favorite author of mine. Admittedly I do like her holiday books the best but I have also read and enjoyed her non-Christmas books and found them heartwarming and always what I need to get me through those long rainy April days that we have here in Oregon. Thayne has written a number of books and also has a large fan base, whenever I see one of her books I instantly know I am getting a quality feel good read. I haven’t read a Thayne book I didn’t like so I feel fully confident saying I am sure this one is going to be another solid HEA book for spring!

I am taking this book with me to read on the plane when I leave for Salt Lake City a little later this month so I will have to report back on how I liked it but for now I have an excerpt for all of you guys to check out today! In this latest book, is a story about sisters and tragedy and over coming some of those strained sibling relationship and learning to start new. Plus there might be a little romance in this one as a little bonus—though most of Thayne’s books have a romantic element, this book promises a lot of big drama topics with a splash of romance.

If you are looking for a lovely beach read set in California with some depth to it (grief and loss) that will warm your heart and leave you feeling content and charmed then this might be the book for you. The second I saw this blue green water, I knew I needed this book in my beach bag! It’s that time of year when it’s cold and rainy still in the Pac NW and I find myself longing for some where warm and sunny with white sandy beaches. My husband and I traveled to Aruba during spring break a few years ago when it was pouring rain here in Oregon and we spent a week in paradise. When we came back I had never been so depressed! After that I decided to stick with reading about warm sunny places during the long cold wet months of February and March in stead of traveling there!

Every spring I start getting excited for all the beach reads. I love to vacation to these places from my armchair and dream about the warm days ahead. Susan Mallery’s books has been a longstanding staple in my beach bag. She has a wronger story telling style and always seems to craft interesting reads with fun main characters and romances. This book takes us to sunny California and we are treated to some romance and a story with heart. I am reading this one now and I cannot wait to share it with you guys soon! It’s a great read so far and if you love contempo romances with realistic characters this is the book for you!

If you love Susan Mallery, then not doubt this will be on your radar. If you are new to her books, this is a great place to start. It’s that time of year when we have had the ‘false spring’ week in Oregon and have then settled into 6 more weeks of winter. We had this absolutely beautiful week where it was sunny and 60-65 degrees—spring was in the air—until it wasn’t. Suddenly we were back to 40 degree temps with constant rain (like torrential down pour) and like many Oregonians we are all left longing for sunshine and warmer temps! So what is a surefire way to cure the longing in our hearts? A book set in a sunny location that offers a little bit of escapism and a whole lot of sunshine!

Enter this lovely new release from Susan Mallery! I love early spring releases. It’s when I am DYING to read them the absolute most because of the long rainy season here. I literally load up my iPad and TBR list with all the great new summer, beach-y reads in early February that carries me through to the end of April until spring actually arrives here!

Susan Mallery has been a favorite author of mine as she has written numerous series and books over the years and has a massive fan base! I have read a couple of her holiday themed books and have enjoyed them quite a bit so when this one came up for review, I couldn’t help but move it to the top of my beach reading TBR list for early spring!
