Special Feature: Island Affair by Priscilla Oliveras

This cover is all kinds of eye catching and exotic. I mean who isn’t dreaming of a tropical, exotic get away right now?! I for one sure am and this cover looks so inviting. All I need is a pina colada in hand to make this perfect!

I love that this book is set on a little island in Key West with all the flavors and vibes of the Caribbean and Cuba, not to mention the summary sounds fantastic and the perfect kind of escape.

Today I have all the info for this book which is out tomorrow and even though I only have a feature up today, you better believe it’s on my TBR because it sounds perfect for summer! Continue reading “Special Feature: Island Affair by Priscilla Oliveras”

Review: Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston (Audible Edition)

This book has been all over my social media, especially my Instagram. I even ordered a Book of the Month that I didn’t really want just so I could get this book as an add on when I missed it in December when it was the selection.

My sister also sent me a copy of this book for Valentine’s Day and as soon as I started reading, I downloaded the Audible Edition so I could keep reading even while I was in the car.

The Audible narration is fantastic by the way. Sometimes I find it difficult to read and listen to the same book together but with this one it wasn’t a problem at all. Continue reading “Review: Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston (Audible Edition)”

Review: The Love Story of Missy Carmichael by Beth Morrey

This book sounded like something completely different than the traditional ‘romances’ that I tend to pick up when I am looking for something different.

When I read the description, the main character is 79 years old. I was like oh, interesting….which immediately put it into the category of something different for me. Plus I loved that it said the novel was a ‘coming of old’ story. Not going to lie it made me laugh and I usually tend to pick up books that feature young heroines so reading something with a much older heroine sounded new and exciting.

Plus this debut has been getting a lot of buzz lately and I didn’t want to miss out on something new and exciting, not to mention the sweet dog cartoon on the cover basically sealed the deal. Continue reading “Review: The Love Story of Missy Carmichael by Beth Morrey”

Special Feature: Tomorrow There Will Be Sun by Dana Reinhardt

When I first read the summary for this one, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. One the surface it sounded like it was setting up to be a psychological thriller, but the more that I think about it, I think it’s supposed to be more women’s fiction?

But I keep wanting it to be a thriller! I think I’ve been reading too many thrillers lately because I am seeing murder when there isn’t any! Tell me if I am wrong : “…as the families settle into their vacation routines, their best friends suddenly seem like annoying strangers, and even Jenna’s reliable husband, Peter, is sharing clandestine phone calls with someone–but who?”

Sounds like the setup for a psychological thriller, am I right? Well I am wrong, it’s more contempo fiction but this summary caught my eye even if I was wrong. I am thrilled to share all the details with you guys about this slow burn contempo fiction novel today on my blog! It sounds like a promising read even if it’s not about murder!
