To say that Bringing Down the Duke was one of my favorite books of 2019 would be a drastic understatement. I bought it for every woman reader in my family for Christmas. I absolutely loved Evie Dunmore’s debut novel and the book hangover that followed was so real!

I have been checking Netgalley weekly to see when the next book in the series will be available and the second it was out, I downloaded it. I knew I would be reviewing this one in September so I had plenty of time to read it but I couldn’t help myself!

I started reading it in June and was done in 2 days times. It was so good and now I being the long long long wait for the next book in the series! Evie Dunmore—-you are my favorite romance writer! Juliet Marillier is such a talented writer with some seriously good fantasy novels on her resume! I read the first installment of her latest series The Warrior Bards last year and thought it was a great start to a new series.

I was so bummed that my September calendar filled up so fast, but I am going to read this second installment a little later this year but for now, I wanted to bring you guys all the details since it’s coming out today!

Not only have I really enjoyed this series so far, but I also loved the cover of this one so much. It’s beautiful and I can’t wait to read it here in the next couple of months. Right from the start, I really liked the sound of this novel. An unconventional mother daughter story just sounds refreshing and interesting to me.

I couldn’t fit this one in on my review schedule which made me so sad but I was able to do the next best thing and bring you guys a little sneak peak with an excerpt today.

After reading that excerpt I am even more excited for this one to release! It is out on Sept 1st so only a couple more days to go! My book club pick for August was The Whisper Man and I was so excited for it because I have had the book from my Book of the Month box for over a year.

I often find myself looking at it on my shelves and think, ‘this is the month I am going to read it’ and then something else catches my eye and I forget until the next time my eye wanders that way.
