If ever there was a modern queen of mystery, it would surely be Anne Perry. Not only is she a best selling novelist, she also spent time in jail for participating in a murder when she was a teenager.

So if ever there was an author versed in the telling of murder, this author right here is it. I have loved the books of her’s that I have read and while I haven’t read this series yet, I know it’s one that I am going to adore too!

I am reading this book here a little later this fall and I have already ordered the first book in this series so I can read that one too! Review: The Royal Governess by Wendy Holden

This book popped up on my radar in the early summer and I have been looking forward to it ever since. Like many, I love all things royal and Queen Elizabeth has been such a mysterious figure for me. I can’t imagine what it must have been like for her growing up not expecting to be queen only to have the position basically thrust upon her.

Which is why this book sounded so interesting. I liked the idea of getting a glimpse into the younger years of Queen Elizabeth, even if it was a fictionalized account of her younger years.

This book focuses on Elizabeth’s governess, Marion Crawford, who served the crown until Elizabeth married Prince Philip and I was eager to dive in to satisfy my curiosity. Continue reading “Review: The Royal Governess by Wendy Holden”

Special Feature: The Paris Model by Alexandra Joel

Can we talk about how stunning this cover it before we even start talking about the book? This cover caught my eye and instantly made me want to read it. I love the colors and of course the Eiffel Tower in the background only enhanced the beauty of the cover.

I also thought it captured the essence of this novel. This is a novel featuring Christian Dior and I think it absolutely does the famous designer justice. The cover just reminds me of a call back to a more elegant time and I can’t tell you how much I love it.

This book is out now and if you love historical fiction with a bit of romance (like me) then you are going to love this book or at least you need to get it on your radar! I am reading it a little later this year but I wanted to get the info out to you now because it came out this week and you don’t want to miss it! Review: A Rogue of One’s Own (A League of Extraordinary Women #2) by Evie Dunmore

To say that Bringing Down the Duke was one of my favorite books of 2019 would be a drastic understatement. I bought it for every woman reader in my family for Christmas. I absolutely loved Evie Dunmore’s debut novel and the book hangover that followed was so real!

I have been checking Netgalley weekly to see when the next book in the series will be available and the second it was out, I downloaded it. I knew I would be reviewing this one in September so I had plenty of time to read it but I couldn’t help myself!

I started reading it in June and was done in 2 days times. It was so good and now I being the long long long wait for the next book in the series! Evie Dunmore—-you are my favorite romance writer! Please excuse me while I fangirl and gush over this book! Continue reading “Review: A Rogue of One’s Own (A League of Extraordinary Women #2) by Evie Dunmore”
