Special Feature: The Bookstore on the Beach by Brenda Novak

There is something about summer beach reads season that never takes me by surprise! Usually around the beginning of March I start getting all the info on spring reads and beach reads. Unlike October when I start getting all the Christmas reads (which I am never ready for in October!), beach reads season is one that never sneaks up on me and is always welcome!

In Oregon, March is still relatively rainy, cold and often there is still a chance for snow. Last week it was a high of 40 and rainy, by the weekend it was sunny and 60. Right about now is the time I start longing for warm days and easy reads! Which is why I am looking forward to this upcoming novel from Brenda Novak! Novak is a prolific writer with loads of both holiday and beach reads under her belt!

I cannot wait for this one and am looking forward to escaping into a small beach town with all the romance and charm Novak is known for! Today I have an excerpt of this lovely read and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Special Feature: Goodnight Sweetheart by Pam Weaver

Do you like emotional reads? I have to be in the mood for them but I also really them when I do read them. This new release if full of emotion and romance all set in WWII which offers a dramatic backdrop to this novel. When I saw the cover I was instantly intrigued by it and I thought that it was eye catching and promised a complex tale within its pages.

I haven’t read anything by author Pam Weaver before but early reviews of this book are high and full of praise for her writing style. While this one promises a lot of emotion, it also promises a love story and I am always eager to read a solid war time romance. So all these things made me excited to read this one!

It sounds like the characters in this one are going to face adversity in their romance and this will be a story of how they overcome that adversity. I am so excited to check this one out especially since it has a lot of drama and the romance seems compelling. It is out now and today I am sharing all the little details of this one and hope that you take a look and add this one to yourTBR.

Special Feature: Eternal by Lisa Scottoline

Spring time is the hot time for all the upcoming new historical fictions releases! My TBR list always seems to double from late February/early March until about the end of April. I simply love historical fiction and author Lisa Scottoline has written a number of novels which makes me even more excited for this one!

The one thing that drew me to this historical fiction was the setting. So many historical fiction novels are set during WWII and it’s typically in France or England, which mades sense right? Since France and England was where all the fighting was mostly happening. But there is a whole other area that was greatly impacted by the war too…..Italy.

This book is set in Italy and is based on true events. This book sounds like it’s going to focus more on the rise of Mussolini and fascism as war threatens the country. It sounds like it’s going to be an impactful novel with loads of historical details to recommend itself and I am so here for it. I cannot wait to read this one! It is out now so if historical fiction is your thing be sure to get this one on your radar!

Special Feature and Excerpt: The Path to Sunshine Cove by RaeAnne Thayne

RaeAnne Thayne has been a favorite author of mine for a while! I love her Christmas books so much and her other romances aren’t bad either. She is a prolific writer who turns out consistently well written love stories and I cannot WAIT to read this one. Especially after the excerpt that I have included in this post for you guys to enjoy!

This one is set in the Pacific Northwest in a fictional coastal town and seeing as how I live in the Pacific Northwest and love visiting the coast, this one sounds like it’s going to be an extra special read for me. Setting and romance aside, you simply canot go wrong with RaeAnne Thayne.

She’s a marvelous writer who writes believable female characters with real life issues to address, and swoon worthy heroes who win me over every time. Not to mention she does small town settings so so so well. If you love womens fiction with romance, you will no doubt have heard from RaeAnne Thayne but if you have yet to give her books a go, I strongly encourage you to check her out! This beach read promises to be another hit for her!

Review: Under the Light of the Italian Moon by Jennifer Anton

When I was pitched this book, what sold me was the sensational cover! The cover is a show stopper and so eye catching and promises something exotic and romantic. But then I read the description and I couldn’t wait to read it, especially since it was based on a true story.

While it is set during WWII, it’s not set in the traditional countries of France and England, but rather Italy as the title implies. I think Italy often gets overlooked in the WWII historical fiction genre so I was really excited to read about a familiar event in history through a unique pair of eyes.

Plus I was super excited to see that there was a romance in it. I love war time romances. The backdrop of the war adds so much tension and drama to war time romances so I was really looking forward to this one. I picked it up on the first day of spring break and devoured it in a matter of days! There was a lot to love in this one!
