Special Feature: A Brush with Love by Mazey Eddings

I think most of us can agree that going to the dentist does not top anyones list of favorite things to do! I hate going to the dentist but I might be more inclined to go if it involved a swoon worthy dentist! When I saw this one come up for review I was intrigued by the idea of a dental romance. When I think dentist I don’t immediately think romance, but when I hear hospital/ER I DO think romance so I was excited to see how this one would play out! One can find hospital romances (books and shows) in abundance but I literally cannot think of a single work place romance that involves a dentist and root canals! This is seriously the thing that stood out above all else when I saw this book come across my desk for review!

When this book came across my desk, the setting and premise was what really hooked me and wanted to make me read it. Sadly I couldn’t fit it into my review schedule for spring but there is so much in the summary that makes me really want to read it! I have also been seeing some amazing reviews about it! One of the reviews I saw noted how well developed the main character was, along with some serious chemistry between the main characters! I am always on the hunt for interesting characters and hot romances, but this one really stood out as the ‘random dental romance’ for me. The setting intrigued me that much! I am so excited to see how the setting plays into this one along with the sizzling chemistry and fun characters!

It appears that this book is the beginning of a potential series and the author, Mazey Eddings, has one other romance under her belt that I am not sure if part of this particular potential series, but it does show that she is an established writer with a firm fan base so I have high expectations for this particular book! If you love a good romance and one that promises an interesting setting and enough sweetness for a cavity, then I think this book will be for you!

Review: A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham

Where are my murderionos at? If you like your thrillers with a hefty dose of murder this is for you! It’s been a long time since I have stayed up late into the night reading a thriller. A romance—sure, but my thrillers lately have been really meah to be honest. However this book caught my eye early on when I picked it as my Book of the Month selection a few months back. I love chilling novels that include murder and serial killers and this book sounded right up my alley!

But lately my reading time has been limited so I downloaded this one to listen to at work and running errands. I absolutely loved the narrator, she had a great reading voice and the male voices she did weren’t unbearable to listen to so I count that as a win! I gotta tell you, I found myself driving around randomly just to listen to this one a little bit longer. I really enjoyed it, but that doesn’t mean that I loved everything about it (more on that later).

If you love your thrillers with more murder rather than creepy moodiness, you will defiantly love this book. I find that so many thrillers these days are just about creating a mood or feel and many just focus on making readers feel uneasy without really having much of a story. Theres such a focus on domestic thrillers that really don’t have much to do in the way of murder so lately I just haven’t read many thrillers because of this, however this one was much more murder-y and I was all about that!

Special Feature: 10 Rules for Marrying a Duke by Michelle McLean

Love is in the air this month with it being Valentine’s Day and I typically lean toward more romances during the month of February! Earlier this year I really focused on reading more contemporary romances and cowboy romances, all of which were great but historical romances have my heart. There is just something that works so well in historical romances for me. I think part of it is that it feels like such a more refined era with wooing being more thought out and intentional. I just love historical romances.

Naturally I always keep my ear to the ground for new historical romances and this one popped up on my radar a few months ago. I haven’t read Michelle McLean before but I see she has written several historical romances and most have been really well received by readers! She is a USA Today Best Selling Author for a reason and that’s what made me excited about this one!

McLean has written three series that have different flavors, The MacGregor Lairds which appears to be a Highlander romance series, The Gunslinger series that looks like a historical cowboy romance series, and the Blood Blade Sisters series which seems like a buccaneer romance series. This latest novel focuses on a Duke so clearly McLean has a lot of range in her romance novels which makes me so excited to check this one out! If you love historical romances, I think you are going to enjoy this steamy novel!

I randomly picked up a Julia London book last year at Christmas time simply because I loved the dress on the cover! I ended up enjoying it, even if I didn’t LOVE it, I still liked it enough to add Julia London to my list of go to romance writers! London has written a number of romances and romance series which have amassed a large following of fans, so when I saw this latest book (which is first in a new series by the way!) Special Feature: The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti by Jennifer Probst

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we had the week of what we call ‘the false spring’. We had a week of sunny and 65 degree weather and then—boom, it was back to 40 and raining worse than ever! It’s always this time of year when I long for the sun on my face and some warmer, longer days. In February and early March that is my prime time for what I call the ‘warm reads’. You know, the books that are set on warm sunny beaches or in this case, set on the Italian rivera!

This book cover is eye catching with its sunny skies and sparkling blue water, and it certainly fits the bill for my ‘warm reads’ criteria! I couldn’t fit this one into my review schedule but this one sounds positively delightful! The cover is striking and eye catching and the title enticed me with it’s ‘secret love letters’ part! I instantly wanted to know what was in said love letters and what made them secret! But this book promises more than just a warm location to escape to and some mystery love letters—-it sounds like it’s going to be an epic story of love and family mixed with some emotion. So if you are looking for an emotional read this spring this might be it!

Author Jennifer Probst has written a number of best selling romances, books, and series! She is a well established author with a large following of fans. Clearly she knows how to craft well written stories, characters, and romances. I am so excited to check this one out a little later this year. But for now if you are looking for your net hot read be sure to consider this one! It is already getting rave reviews so be sure to add it to your TBR list and be watching for a review from me in the future!
