Special Feature: Eliza Starts a Rumor by Jane L. Rosen

Today Jane Rosen’s latest novel, Eliza Starts a Rumor, is out in the world and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share a bit about this exciting new summer read!

Rosen has written a couple of well received books that have gathered quite the fan base of women’s fiction fans! I think the one most would recognize is, Nine Women, One Dress. I have seen that one quite a bit at different book stores and this new book is already gaining a buzz.

This book is going to be a hit with women readers this summer so keep reading to check out all the details and where you can snag yourself a copy! Continue reading “Special Feature: Eliza Starts a Rumor by Jane L. Rosen”

Special Feature: I Was Told It Would Get Easier by Abbi Waxman

This book is the latest from the best selling author of The Bookish Life of Nina Hill which was met with rave reviews last year.

I was thrilled to be able to get a chance to check this one out and see if this would be a new favorite author of mine except my review calendar was pretty full for the summer so I opted to do a special feature instead!

So today I am bringing you all the details for this hot new release and hope that you will check it out and if you have read it, let me know what you think! Continue reading “Special Feature: I Was Told It Would Get Easier by Abbi Waxman”

Review: Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner

This book is one of the buzziest books of the summer. It’s been everywhere and I have tried to stay away from reviews so as not to taint my own but it’s been so hard because it’s literally everywhere on social media right now.

I had such great luck with Beach Read (another buzzy book) and I was eager to start this one thinking it would be really similar—-but it wasn’t. The cover makes me think this book would be more of a beach read but then the summary suggested women’s fiction and yet there was a mystery element to the story.

Basically this book had a lot going on and I wasn’t exactly sure how it was all going to fit together but I was looking forward to reading one of the hottest books of the summer. Continue reading “Review: Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner”

Review: Recipe for Persuasion (The Rajes #2) by Sonali Dev

Sonali Dev was a new to my author when I read her Pride and Prejudice retelling, Pride Prejudice and Other Flavors, last year.

I was thrilled to see that she would continue the story of the Rajes family and do a retelling of my favorite Austen novel, Persuasion. Dev has a great sense of humor and a way of capturing difficult family issues and difficult sibling relationships but yet keeps her focus on the romance at hand. So basically, I couldn’t wait to reacquaint myself with the Rajes and start this one.

One of the things that makes Persuasion so great for me is that it’s a second chance romance and I was so excited to see how that unfolded in this book, not to mention all the food in this book. Sign me up! Continue reading “Review: Recipe for Persuasion (The Rajes #2) by Sonali Dev”

Special Feature: Rules for Moving by Nancy Star

If you (like me) love women’s fiction and are looking for something written by a well regarded author, then look no further! Rules for Moving sounds like a heartfelt summer read that you definitely want on your radar!

While Nancy Star might be a new to me author, she has written a children’s mystery series and some adult women’s fiction novels which I think speaks highly of her writing abilities!

This book sounds like it’s packed full of emotion and yet promises an uplifting tale even if the summary sounds heavy, so if your beach bag isn’t full of great reads already, then you might want to pop this book in your bag (along with some tissues) and check it out!
