Special Feature/Excerpt: Hate Crush (Filthy Rich #2) by Angelina M. Lopez

Some of the ultimate escape books for me are about the mega rich. I love reading books that are so far removed from my own situation and day dream about life styles of the rich and famous!

This particular book not only features the filthy rich but it also has a second chance romance that sounds wonderful.

Today I am so excited to share a little sneak peak of this book with you guys. It is part of a series but it is easily read as a standalone so don’t worry about going back to read other books. If this excerpt catches your eye, then be sure to snag yourself a copy today! Continue reading “Special Feature/Excerpt: Hate Crush (Filthy Rich #2) by Angelina M. Lopez”

Review: Head Over Heels by Hannah Orenstein

At first glance this book wasn’t eye catching to me. I wasn’t really feeling the basic cover and there was nothing that stood out to me as a reader.

As I said the cover was just ok for me and the title wasn’t really unique but as I have said a million times before, I always read every pitch that comes across my desk because you just can’t judge a book by it’s cover, even though I think most of us are guilty of doing just that.

If I had gone just on first impression alone, I would have missed a really great rom-com! I loved the premise of this book and was thrilled with it cover to cover! Continue reading “Review: Head Over Heels by Hannah Orenstein”

Review: The Last Train to Key West by Chanel Cleeton

Chanel Cleeton was an author who was on my radar from the release of her very first book. At first I wasn’t really that interested in the time period or Cuban history—but all the reviews of her first book, Next Year in Havana, were overwhelmingly positive and I wanted to check it out.

But many other books came before I finally picked it up and even then it was only recently.

I read When We Left Cuba last year and loved it and when I heard that Cleeton was coming out with a new book this year, I finally read Next Year in Havana and re-read When We Left Cuba so that I could be ready for this one! Continue reading “Review: The Last Train to Key West by Chanel Cleeton”

Take Two Review: When We Left Cuba by Chanel Cleeton (Audible Edition)

When I first read this book, it was my first time reading anything by Chanel Cleeton. I hadn’t read Next Year in Havana yet so it was my first time reading about the Perez family.

Cleeton has another new book coming out this month and I desperately wanted to be ready for it so I downloaded Next Year in Havana on Audible and listened to it and fell in love!

Then I wanted to go back and re-read this one since I didn’t really have a full understanding of the Perez family and I thought that now having read Next Year in Havana, this one would make a lot more sense and get me all caught up and ready for Last Train to Key West. Review: Redemption of the Maverick Millionaire by Michelle Douglas

As many of you know, I had done a lot of reviews and features for Harlequin and their affiliate publishing houses over the last few years and I have discovered a ton of great books perfect for escaping.

This new Harlequin Romance novel came across my desk thanks to the author and while the cover seemed a little dated, I thought the story sounded fun and author Michelle Douglas has written a number of romance novels and all have been well received so saying yes to a review was easy!

As I mentioned the cover wasn’t my favorite, I think the dress of the woman could have been better….it looks kind of dated to me but that was the only negative first impression I had, the story itself sounded like it would redeem the cover!
