Book and Bookstagram fans this is the book you have been waiting for! I am so excited to share this book with you all today and share a little sneak peak with an excerpt. I mean, how can this book NOT be good with all the bookish things it promises? I love the enemies to lovers troupe the fact that this book contains that plus a second chance romance troupe plus books already makes it a home run for me!

This little excerpt was a fun introduction to the book and characters. I have been looking for some good bookish romances lately and this book is at the top of my TBR this summer and I cannot wait to see how it unfolds and if it meets all my expectations. I mean the witty banter and premise of the book sounds like it will and the excerpt was fun so I am holding out hope that that entire novel contains more of the same!

This is author Kate Bromley’s debut novel and I am so excited to read it after reading more about her. She is a teacher and loves romance and making people laugh, you cannot go wrong with that! And the fact that she wrote a romance with books make it even more exciting. Anyway take a look at the excerpt below and see if this something you can sink your teeth into this summer—-I know I can!

Re-Share Review: Before the Crown by Flora Harding

Last year I read this book and thought it was a great fictionalized account of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip’s romance. I read it quickly and thought it had charm, historical detail, and was perfect for fans of The Crown. Now it’s officially out in the US and I am so excited to share my original review with you guys today!

Now that Prince Phillip has passed away, I think it’s also a special time to read this book and appreciate the man that he once was and enjoy the love story between himself and Elizabeth. This book promised to shed some light on the romance between Phillip and Elizabeth and I was absolutely here for it!

Not only is this cover absolutely breathtaking, but the story sounded excellent as well. But in all honesty, it was the cover that captured my attention and made me want to read this one! Thanks to shows like The Crown, royals and Queen Elizabeth have been getting a lot of attention and focus. In The Crown though we don’t get too much background on the early years of Princess Elizabeth so that’s why this one excited me so much.

Product Review: Simplicity Teas II

It’s been about a month now since I received my first Simplicity Teas box and I am loving all the teas that came. Some more than others, but overall I am so satisfied with the box! What is in said box you ask? Well let me tell you a little bit about Simplicity Teas before I get into one of my favorite teas from the subscription box!

Simplicity Tea is a monthly subscription box where you can try out a couple of their teas in a smaller version before committing to a larger amount of the tea. They have both a subscription box and fully stocked shop with infusers and full orders of tea. I opted for the subscription box so I could try a couple of different types of tea.

My tea box came with an adorable strawberry infuser and enough tea for a month! I had 4 different teas to pick from, two black teas and two herbal teas. One of my black teas was decaffeinated, which was actually perfect because I never think to have decaffeinated tea in the afternoons but then at 10 when I am still awake and wondering why I am always like ‘oh ya that’s right I did have caffeine this afternoon!’.

I reviewed my first tea from them earlier in the month and loved it. I then tried the other teas in my box and decided to review the Sweet Dreams sample as my second review. I drink sleepy tea every single night and most of my sleepy tea has valerian root in it as a sleep agent, the Sweet Dreams tea from Simplicity didn’t have the valerian root in it but I thought it has a pleasant taste with flavorful ingredients.

This particular blend features apple, rose hip, cranberries, spearmint as well as a few others. It has a nice herbal creme flavor to it and I thought it was soothing. I don’t know that it truly acted as a sleep agent in the way that my normal sleepy time tea does, but I thought it was soothing all the same. It would be a nice post dinner tea to start helping you wind down for bed time.

I am not sure that I would purchase this one again or have it be a replacement for my usual sleepy tea, but I thought that the sample was a perfect size to try out and it was a well balanced and flavorful tea that I think tea drinkers will enjoy. In the sample there was enough for about a week (6-7 cups of tea) and I have about enough left over for 2 cups now and I will continue to enjoy it in the evenings until it’s gone.

If you have been considering Simplicity Tea I highly recommend the subscription box. It’s perfect for instances like this…..where you want to try new products and teas but aren’t sure you will love it or not. Simplicity Teas will send you just enough tea to give a fair trial and then you can decide if you want to order more or not. Maybe you love it and need more or maybe you are like me and you enjoyed it but are open to trying other kinds. This is a win win all around and I strongly encourage you to test them out!

Special Feature: A Trail of Lies (Jazz Ramsey #3) by Kylie Logan

How can I pass on a book with a sweet pup on the cover? The answer is, I can’t! I would be lying if I said that this sweet little dog on the front didn’t suck me in because he totally did! I don’t really know much about the Jazz Ramsey series but I think the books sound like they are quick and fun mystery reads.

Plus I mean they feature cadaver/rescue dog and I think that’s so cool and I am excited to read the books in this series. This book is the third in the series and from what I have read, I think it can be read as a standalone. However I personally like the full experience when possible, so I will be reading the other books before this one but I wanted to share a bit about this one with you guys today!

This book sounds like it’s going to have a complex plot with lots of twists and turns. I love the idea of an unstable/unreliable parent being part of this mystery. I think that’s going to add a lot to the plot and I am super excited to read this one (as well as the other books) and see how things unfold. This series has received a lot of praise and I think it’s going to be a solid installment to the Jazz Ramsey books! This one is available now and that sweet dog makes it worth a purchase for sure!

Review: Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica

If you have followed my blog for a while you will know that I love mysteries. I went through a big mystery/thriller phase a while back and then took a break and read more historical fiction/romance but lately I’ve been reading more thrillers and I was super excited to see this book from Mary Kubica in my review queue.

One of my favorite shows on ID Discovery Channel was Disappeared and all I could think of when I was watching the show was, people just don’t disappear, someone knows something. And when I saw that this was practically the tagline for this book, I was super excited to read it! I haven’t read anything by Kubica before but I certainly know the name so I couldn’t wait to dive into this one.

If you are a thriller/mystery reader you will most likely have this one on your radar. Kubica has written some well loved and popular thrillers many of which have been best sellers so I felt confident that this book would be solid with a seasoned writer like Kubica. If you are looking for a fast paced read this spring, look no further! This one was excellent!
