Special Feature and Excerpt: The Secrets of Love Story Bridge by Phaedra Patrick

Who here needs a little romance in their lives right about now? Even if your life is full of romance and love, can’t there always be just a little more? I for one love romance and this book sounds like it is full of romance not to mention that it will most likely provide a pleasurable and happy escape from reality right now.

I am thrilled that I also get to bring you all a little sneak peak today with an excerpt from this novel and boy does it sound great!

What I liked most about this book was the premise. Have you ever seen a padlock on a bridge and wondered what its story was? When I visited Prague a few years ago, there is a whole bridge dedicated just to these padlocks. My husband and I had no idea what they were about until we asked and we thought it sounded so romantic and I love that that is the premise of this story! Review: Stories We Never Told by Sonja Yoerg

Sonja Yoerg is another author that I have been a long time fan of, though I have to admit I was a little worried about this one. Yoerg usually writes more women’s fiction, but this one was marketed as more of a thriller.

But I did keep an open mind. I hate how some authors get pigeon holed into writing a certain genre, just because an author is known for writing women’s fiction doesn’t mean she can’t write anything else right?

While Yoerg might be known for a certain genre, I would argue that she should be known for her ability to write complex characters that truly stand out rather than a particular genre—so I took the plunge and started reading this one. Continue reading “Review: Stories We Never Told by Sonja Yoerg”

Special Feature: Sugar and Vice (A Cookie House Mystery #2) by Eve Calder

There is just something about a cozy foodie mystery that provides so much comfort and escapism. I mean not only am I solving a murder mystery but I am also getting to do it while dreaming of my favorite treats! It’s a great combo for me.

This series, The Cookie House Mystery series, is new to me it sounds like it’s a fun way to pass the time. I also think the covers are adorable and that sweet dog on this cover just stole my heart!

While this is the second book in the series, it sounds like it could also be read as a standalone so if you are looking for a little escape featuring food then you might want to give this one a go!

Review: Feels Like Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey

When Kristy Woodson Harvey’s Peachtree Bluff series ended last year, I was so sad but at the same time looking forward to what she came up with next.

Harvey has such a great writing style that is refreshing, charming, and heartfelt so I knew that whatever she had up her sleeve was going to be outstanding.

When I saw that it was going to once again tap into the importance and power of friendships, I couldn’t have been more thrilled if I tried! Continue reading “Review: Feels Like Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey”
