Review: The Lost Boys of London (Bianca Goddard Mysteries #5) by Mary Lawrence

Bianca Goddard is a completely new to me sleuth, last year was the first time I discovered her and it was the fourth book that I picked up. I was told that each book in the series could be read as a standalone, so I was excited to dive in, even if I was skeptical.

I was thrilled that the book was indeed possible to read as a standalone and thought it was a very interesting and enjoyable series so I was excited to read the next book, even if I haven’t gone back and read the other books in the series.

This book sounded exceptionally good as it is set in the final days of Henry VIII reign and seemed to include a Catholic reference so I was excited to see how this one unfolded and as always, to read a well done mystery. Review: Promised by Leah Garriott (Audible Edition)

A few months back I did a special feature on this book and I just couldn’t get the cover and description out of my mind! I knew my review schedule was packed, so I downloaded it to listen to when I had errands to run.

That’s the thing I love most about audiobooks, there are plenty of days that I have to run errands or just need to get out of the house and go for a drive during the quarantine or days where I have house work to do, rather than sit and read, I multitask with audiobooks.

I rarely accept audiobooks for review because I want to pick books that I maybe had my eye on or maybe I was just in the mood for or perhaps they were on my TBR for years, in other words, it’s my ‘just for fun’ outlet for reading. I was totally in the mood to read this sweet proper romance so I downloaded it and started listening on my way to do a Costco run! Special Feature and Excerpt: The Secrets of Love Story Bridge by Phaedra Patrick

Who here needs a little romance in their lives right about now? Even if your life is full of romance and love, can’t there always be just a little more? I for one love romance and this book sounds like it is full of romance not to mention that it will most likely provide a pleasurable and happy escape from reality right now.

I am thrilled that I also get to bring you all a little sneak peak today with an excerpt from this novel and boy does it sound great!

What I liked most about this book was the premise. Have you ever seen a padlock on a bridge and wondered what its story was? When I visited Prague a few years ago, there is a whole bridge dedicated just to these padlocks. My husband and I had no idea what they were about until we asked and we thought it sounded so romantic and I love that that is the premise of this story! Review: Stories We Never Told by Sonja Yoerg

Sonja Yoerg is another author that I have been a long time fan of, though I have to admit I was a little worried about this one. Yoerg usually writes more women’s fiction, but this one was marketed as more of a thriller.

But I did keep an open mind. I hate how some authors get pigeon holed into writing a certain genre, just because an author is known for writing women’s fiction doesn’t mean she can’t write anything else right?

While Yoerg might be known for a certain genre, I would argue that she should be known for her ability to write complex characters that truly stand out rather than a particular genre—so I took the plunge and started reading this one. Continue reading “Review: Stories We Never Told by Sonja Yoerg”

There are so many good books coming out this spring and I am so excited to be able to share some of these great titles with you guys. One of the books that is out now and catching my eye is this one!

This book sounds like a wonderful read full of emotion and heart about family. This is a new to me author but one that has a large following of fans who rave about her books.

If you are looking for something about families but that packs more of an emotional punch then this might be just the book you are looking for right now! Continue reading “Special Feature: The Sweeney Sisters by Lian Dolan”
