Re-Share Review: Becoming Mrs Lewis by Patti Callahan Henry

I couldn’t be more excited to re-share my review of this wonderful book in celebration of it’s release in paperback today!

This was the first book I had read by this author and I absolutely loved it! I first read it back in the fall of 2018 and I have often thought of it since then, especially when I see a Narnia book! When I read this book originally, I hadn’t read the Narnia books yet but thanks to this fun novel, I was inspired to read the first one at least and I loved it.

If you are looking for a wonderfully charming read that will stay with you long after it’s done, you should check this one out! It is out in paperback today so don’t miss it! Check out my original thoughts on it below! Continue reading “Re-Share Review: Becoming Mrs Lewis by Patti Callahan Henry”

Special Feature and Excerpt: The Sea Glass Cottage by RaeAnne Thayne

I absolutely love RaeAnne Thayne and I just stumbled on her books about a year and a half ago when I was asked to read one of her Christmas series. I thought it was absolutely charming and very festive.

Since then I have read a couple of her other Christmas ones and then one of her non-Christmas reads and enjoyed all of them! I was thrilled to see she had another new book coming out this spring.

Today I am thrilled to bring you an excerpt from her latest beachy read, THE SEA GLASS COTTAGE which is out now so don’t miss it! Continue reading “Special Feature and Excerpt: The Sea Glass Cottage by RaeAnne Thayne”

Review: Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel

This novel has been getting a lot of hype on social media. It’s Stephanie Wrobel’s debut novel and it sounds dark and addicting. Which is exactly why I wanted to review it.

I mean, I am not going to lie, the main character’s name was Rose Gold and that was made clear in the summary and all I could think of was ‘gag me!’

I honestly wasn’t sure I could get past the name situation but I was eager to read this one all the same because it had all the complicated mother/daughter issues mixed with some psychologically thrilling elements so I was willing ot at least try and look past the name ‘Rose Gold’. Special Feature: Tomorrow There Will Be Sun by Dana Reinhardt

When I first read the summary for this one, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. One the surface it sounded like it was setting up to be a psychological thriller, but the more that I think about it, I think it’s supposed to be more women’s fiction?

But I keep wanting it to be a thriller! I think I’ve been reading too many thrillers lately because I am seeing murder when there isn’t any! Tell me if I am wrong : “…as the families settle into their vacation routines, their best friends suddenly seem like annoying strangers, and even Jenna’s reliable husband, Peter, is sharing clandestine phone calls with someone–but who?”

Sounds like the setup for a psychological thriller, am I right? Well I am wrong, it’s more contempo fiction but this summary caught my eye even if I was wrong. I am thrilled to share all the details with you guys about this slow burn contempo fiction novel today on my blog! It sounds like a promising read even if it’s not about murder! Special Feature and Excerpt: Hers to Tame: A Mafia Romance (NOLA Knights #2) by Rhenna Morgan

When I saw that this was a ‘mafia romance’ I was instantly drawn to it. It sounded like something a little off the beaten track of romances. There are so many historical romances (duke, viscount, earl etc) and so many billionaire romances that sometimes it can be overwhelming when trying to find a new romance to read.

That’s why the words ‘mafia romance’ stood out. Talk about two words that don’t really seem to go together! As a Carina Press release, a subsidiary of Harlequin, promises a happy ending so I was super excited to check this one out.

And today of course I have a special feature as well as an excerpt to share with you guys. This book comes in at just over 85,000 words so it’s a quick weekend read that you don’t want to miss!
