Review: Barefoot on a Starlit Night (Rendezvous Falls #3) by Jo McNally

I have never read anything by Jo McNally but I am very familiar with her name. McNally is a prolific writer of romances and I see her books often at the local bookstore and supermarkets.

When this book came up for review I had no problem agreeing to it because with a name as long standing as Jo McNally, it proves she has staying power as well as a big fan base.

I was fortunate enough to have an opening on my summer calendar thanks to so many books being put off for publication until fall, so this book was an easy yeas for me. Continue reading “Review: Barefoot on a Starlit Night (Rendezvous Falls #3) by Jo McNally”

Special Feature: Well-Behaved Indian Women by Saumya Dave

This book caught my eye almost immediately. Not just because of the bright eye catching cover, but because I love mother/daughter stories and this one sounded like a new fresh perspective from debut author Saumya Dave.

This is a story about reinvention and finding your dreams with generational perspective. It sounds so incredible and I only regret that I couldn’t fit it on my review schedule for this summer.

So instead I am bringing you guys a little info on this one and hope you will pick it up and check it out. Early reviewers are raving about this one as are top notch authors. It’s one you will want on your radar, check out all the details below! Continue reading “Special Feature: Well-Behaved Indian Women by Saumya Dave”

Review: Head Over Heels by Hannah Orenstein

At first glance this book wasn’t eye catching to me. I wasn’t really feeling the basic cover and there was nothing that stood out to me as a reader.

As I said the cover was just ok for me and the title wasn’t really unique but as I have said a million times before, I always read every pitch that comes across my desk because you just can’t judge a book by it’s cover, even though I think most of us are guilty of doing just that.

If I had gone just on first impression alone, I would have missed a really great rom-com! I loved the premise of this book and was thrilled with it cover to cover! Continue reading “Review: Head Over Heels by Hannah Orenstein”

Review: Hello, Summer by Mary Kay Andrews

There are a couple of authors that I instantly think of when someone asks me what beach reads I recommend. Mary Kay Andrews is at the top of that list! She has written a ton of books and many of them carry a distinct summer feel. Reading one just puts me in the mood for summer!

This book came out in early May and I was so bummed that I couldn’t read it when it first came out because I definitely needed something warm and sunny to chase the spring rains away!

But I was able to pick it up this month just in time for all the big summer reads and I couldn’t have been happier with this one! Continue reading “Review: Hello, Summer by Mary Kay Andrews”

Review: Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner

This book is one of the buzziest books of the summer. It’s been everywhere and I have tried to stay away from reviews so as not to taint my own but it’s been so hard because it’s literally everywhere on social media right now.

I had such great luck with Beach Read (another buzzy book) and I was eager to start this one thinking it would be really similar—-but it wasn’t. The cover makes me think this book would be more of a beach read but then the summary suggested women’s fiction and yet there was a mystery element to the story.

Basically this book had a lot going on and I wasn’t exactly sure how it was all going to fit together but I was looking forward to reading one of the hottest books of the summer. Continue reading “Review: Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner”
