Review: Paris Never Leaves You by Ellen Feldman

It’s so hard for me to turn down a story set in Paris. There’s a reason that Paris is called the city of romance and I simply love it and can hardly pass it up when a book comes around set in Paris, especially war time Paris.

This one sounded so incredibly promising that saying yes to it was easy. I love duel timeline narratives and this one sounded like it would be such a fun escape read.

This is a new to me author but she has written a few other books that I had heard of and I was eager to pick this one up and start reading. Continue reading “Review: Paris Never Leaves You by Ellen Feldman”

Special Feature: Murder in the East End (Kat Holloway Mysteries #4) by Jennifer Ashley

I was so fortunate to read the first Kat Holloway mystery a couple of years ago, but I just haven’t kept up on the series, though I am so glad to see that many readers have been enjoying the books!

I really enjoyed the first book but as the motto goes, so many books so little time, so I have gotten behind which is why I opted to do a special feature for this book instead of a review. I didn’t want to miss anything since I really enjoyed the first book and characters.

If you love historical mysteries reminiscent of Downton Abbey, then this is a series you do not want to miss! I can’t wait to catch up with the series and see what all the fun characters are up to and from the sound of it, lots has happened! Special Feature: Universe of Two by Stephen P. Kiernan

As we approach fall, I always look forward to historical fiction. While historical fiction is released year round, it always seems that the most exciting historical fiction releases come out in the fall.

This latest release from Stephen P Kiernan promises lots to love and I am thrilled to be sharing a bit about this one with you all today.

Early reviewers have been raving about this one and I definitely have it on my TBR going into the fall. It’s on sale tomorrow so be sure not to miss it! Continue reading “Special Feature: Universe of Two by Stephen P. Kiernan”

Special Feature and Excerpt: The Woman Before Wallis by Bryn Turnbull

Wallis Simpson is the woman that I love to hate. Having read some books about her over the years (non fiction and fiction), I have jut formulated my opinion of her and I came to the conclusion that I just don’t like her—she seemed like an opportunist.

But at the same time there is something terribly romantic about a king giving up his throne—the thing he had devoted his entire life to—just to marry the woman he loves. There is power in that story for sure.

This novel isn’t just another Wallis Simpson story though. Before Wallis there were surely women that caught the future king’s eye and this is the story of that woman. I am so excited to share about this book and an excerpt with you guys today! I can’t wait to start reading this one! Review: Fair as a Star by Mimi Matthews

Mimi Matthews is another author who has been placed firmly on my auto buy/read list! I discovered her by chance and have loved everything she has written!

When I saw this one was coming out, I was thrilled and looking forward to another delicious Victorian romance full of sweetness, love, and of course chemistry between the two characters.

What I didn’t know until I started reading this one was that it was a novella rather than a full length novel. That said it’s still around the 200 page mark but still shorter than a conventional novel but don’t let the length fool you, there is plenty to enjoy in this one!
