Review: The Cliff House by RaeAnne Thayne

RaeAnne Thayne is a newer to me author. I have only just started reading her books this year but so far I have loved them! She is such a strong and seasoned writer and that experience shows in her stories.

When this one came up for review, I was on board not only because I have enjoyed her books, but I was also looking for something a little lighter to break things up.

Lately I have been reading a lot of thrillers and more heavy duty novels, and not that she writes fluff (far from it) but there is something so satisfying about a book with a happy ending! Continue reading “Review: The Cliff House by RaeAnne Thayne”

Review: The Lieutenant’s Nurse by Sara Ackerman

To say that this cover caught my eye is an understatement. I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame. It’s elegant, bright and exotic looking, but with the air of familiarity as a recognizable piece of historical fiction.

I was eager to read it and thrilled when my copy came. From the description, it sounded a little like Pearl Harbor the movie.

Now no judgement but I loved that movie. I didn’t care for Josh Hartnett but overall I loved that movie and I still watch it every time that it’s on.

So in my mind I was secretly hoping that this book was going to be, at least a little, like the film. Continue reading “Review: The Lieutenant’s Nurse by Sara Ackerman”

Review: Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah

When this book showed up in my inbox for review, I wasn’t entirely sure it was something I wanted to read. It sounded a little sad and on the heavy side so initially I set it to the side as a ‘probably wouldn’t review’ book.

But I wasn’t quite ready to write it off so I waited a few days to see if I might change my mind. The summary kept comping back into my mind and I kept thinking about the beautiful blue cover and interesting plot.

Eventually I decided on saying yes to this one, mostly because it sounded magical and elegant even if it was going to be a heavy, sad, tear jerker. Continue reading “Review: Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah”

Review: More Than Words by Jill Santopolo

Jill Santopolo was an author that I wanted to read long before this book! I received an ARC of her THE LIGHT WE LOST a couple years ago and I just couldn’t fit it into my review schedule.

I still continue to eye THE LIGHT WE LOST whenever I am looking for something to read. It sounds like such a beautiful story, but for some reason, it just never makes its way onto my nightstand.

Then MORE THAN WORDS came up for review and I wasn’t about to let this opportunity pass me by a second time. I have heard people rave about her books so I was excited to start this one. Not to mention the cover is elegant and interesting so that was an added bonus. Continue reading “Review: More Than Words by Jill Santopolo”

Review: The Moon Sister (The Seven Sisters #5) by Lucinda Riley

The Seven Sisters series has been a favorite of mine for the last few years! I have read all of them except the third book, not sure how I missed that one, which ironically was the one I was looking forward to most, but I will definitely be going back to read it as soon as I can.

Riley writes with such an elegance and I love how each “Sister” novel stands alone but all together they form singular parts to a larger story.

This series also explores a lot of different cultures and setting around the globe, it’s like getting to travel to exotic locations without having to leave your house.

Each book is truly a treat to read so when this one came up for review, it was an unequivocal yes! Continue reading “Review: The Moon Sister (The Seven Sisters #5) by Lucinda Riley”
