I picked this book up because of the delicious looking pie on the front cover. I mean seriously, that pie looks so delicious and I hoped that the story inside would be equally satisfying.

I don’t think I even stopped to read what it was about, I simply saw pie and said YES. So when I picked it up, I basically went in blind and without any real expectations other than I hoped to read it while eating pie of my own (which did happen by the way!)

Review: All About Evie by Cathy Lamb

I have only read one of Cathy Lamb’s novels but as soon as I finished, I knew this was an author that I wanted to read more of!

Not only is she a local author for me (she’s from Oregon!) but she’s innovative with a strong voice and writing skills. Reading one of her books was a delight and when I saw this one was coming up, I was looking forward to it for months!

Besides the author’s name and appeal to me, I was instantly attracted to the story as well—mostly because it’s set on the San Juan Islands. If you have never been to the San Juan Islands, then you are missing out—they are so enchanting and beautiful so when I saw this book was set there—to a place I have visited quite a bit before—I couldn’t pass up the chance to read it! Review: Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle

By now you have probably noticed that it’s basically Christmas in October on my blog right now. I think this is like the third or fourth holiday romance that I have had up for review or feature on my blog lately.

I’m a sucker for holiday romances and I simply can’t pass one up! I love the cliche predictability that comes with a charming romance novel set against the  holiday season. Nothing says cozy to me like a holiday romance.

Which is exactly why I wanted to read this one. I read one of Nancy Naigle’s other holiday romance last year and loved it! She has written a couple of other series but Dear Santa was my first holiday romance by her and it was such a joy that reading this one was a no brainer! Review: Christmas in Vermont by Anita Hughes

Every year this happens. I block out the entire month of October for strictly Halloween reading (mysteries, horror, thrillers etc), but then all the holiday romances start coming out and next thing I know it’s like Christmas in October on my blog!

I am one of those closet holiday movie fans. There is something so fulfilling about a feel good romance set around the holidays, and I can’t say no to a holiday romance novel to save my life!

I have read all of Anita Hughes’s holiday romances and I adore them! She’s written a number of other novels that aren’t Christmas-y and are set in various exotic locations (which swoon!) but I haven’t read them yet simply because she does such a great job with holiday romances and I’m afraid to rock the boat—because what if I don’t like them as well as the holiday ones?! I know that Christmas is still a few months off, but I am starting to see tantalizing new Christmas romance novels popping up all over the place and I just couldn’t resist sharing a few of my most anticipated winter reading! And this one ranks right up there with one of my eager to read holiday romances!

Sheila Roberts is a prolific writer and her bread and butter seems to be her holiday romances. I have only read one of her books but I thought it was a fun escape, but it was a beach time read. So it’s with great anticipation that I read her latest holiday read, Christmas from the Heart.

I know Roberts has written a number of holiday romances that have also been turned into Hallmark movies and I can’t wait to watch a few of those as well this season!
