Review: Death of a New American (Jane Prescott #2) by Mariah Fredericks

If you have been following me for just about any amount of time, it’s pretty clear that I love historical mysteries. Obviously this is a huge genre with mystery novels coming out of every period to fit just about every interest.

So when I am looking for a new historical mystery, I want to read something that is either ‘new’ or different, or has an outstanding main character that  can relate to. When this series came up for review, I hadn’t heard a thing about it.

In fact I was actually kind of surprised that I hadn’t heard anything about it since it’s set at the turn of the century which is one of my favorite historical mystery periods. Continue reading “Review: Death of a New American (Jane Prescott #2) by Mariah Fredericks”

Review: A Royal Pain (Her Royal Spyness #2) by Rhys Bowen

As you might have guessed, I am burning my way through this series at an alarming rate. Not even half way through the first book, I had to order the rest of the books in the series because I knew that I would be reading all of them in a matter of weeks.

I have read the latest book in this series, Four Weddings and Maybe a Funeral (the last book to date)….I know—don’t ask me why but I read them completely out of order and I figured that I better remedy that situation and start from the beginning.

But I wasn’t expecting to love this series as much as I do! The books are easy breezy reads and I have no trouble racing through them in a matter of days. They are interesting and simply fun! Continue reading “Review: A Royal Pain (Her Royal Spyness #2) by Rhys Bowen”

The Glass Ocean by Beatriz Williams, Lauren Willig, Karen White (Audible Edition)

To say that the three “W” writers are some of my favorites is an understatement. I love all three of these authors and for different reasons. They each tell such a fantastic story and I love that they collaborated on this book together!

I knew they all co-wrote another book, The Forgotten Room, but I haven’t yet read that one. When this one came out, I ordered the ebook but they as usual, it got buried in my endless TBR list.

Then, I discovered audiobooks and was thrilled to see that this one came up as a suggestion based on my wish list. I knew that it was the right time to read this book, so I downloaded it and started listening. Continue reading “The Glass Ocean by Beatriz Williams, Lauren Willig, Karen White (Audible Edition)”

Review: Circe by Madeline Miller, Perdita Weeks (Narrator)

As I have recently shared with you all, I only just got into audiobooks. I read—or rather listened—-to a few that I really liked and saw instantly that I could benefit from an Audible subscription.

One of the first books recommended to me was Circe. My sister highly recommended it and so did just about everyone on my Instagram poll.

I was eager to read this one because frankly it’s been everywhere and I have been dying to read it. Everyone said Perdita Weeks was a wonderful narrator so I was excited to use my very first Audible credit on this book! Continue reading “Review: Circe by Madeline Miller, Perdita Weeks (Narrator)”
