I had the pleasure of reviewing this book and I loved it! It was easily 5 stars for me! Verity Kent is such a sassy and interesting heroine and I can’t get enough of her!

I have long since been a fan of Huber’s books and I am thrilled to be able to offer a copy of this book for my readers! This is the book you want to read in October! It’s a suspenseful mystery and worthy of fall reading!

In 1919 England, in the shadow of The Great War, many look to the spirit world for answers. But it will take an all too earthbound intrigue to draw in the discerning heroine of Anna Lee Huber’s latest mystery . . .

It’s not that Verity Kent doesn’t sympathize with those eager to make contact with lost loved ones. After all, she once believed herself a war widow. But now that she’s discovered Sidney is very much alive, Verity is having enough trouble connecting with her estranged husband, never mind the dead. Still, at a friend’s behest, Verity attends a séance, where she encounters the man who still looms between her and Sidney—and a medium who channels a woman Verity once worked with in the Secret Service. Refusing to believe her former fellow spy is dead, Verity is determined to uncover the source of the spiritualist’s top secret revelation.

Then the medium is murdered—and Verity’s investigation is suddenly thwarted. Even Secret Service agents she once trusted turn their backs on her. Undaunted, Verity heads to war-torn Belgium, with Sidney by her side. But as they draw ever closer to the danger, Verity wonders if she’s about to learn the true meaning of till death do us part .

Full disclosure, I’ve been a huge fan of Anna Lee Huber for years. I absolutely love all of her books and I can’t get enough of the heroines, mysteries, and of course the covers! The Verity Kent series is no different.

I read the first book in the Verity Kent series earlier this year and I loved it! It was an interesting start to a different type of heroine for Huber. I was eager to see what else was in store for Verity in this latest book in the series.

Review: Time’s Convert by Deborah Harkness

I first saw A Discovery of Witches in my local bookstore when it first came out. I bought the book and then kind of forgot about it. Like a ghost, the book haunted me from my bookshelf.

Eventually I picked it up to read and absolutely fell in love with the characters, story, and world that Harkness created. I breezed through all of the books and enjoyed each one for various reasons. I was genuinely sad when the series came to an end.

The setting and description of this book sounded original and different which was why I decided to review this one. I loved that this book was set in Alaska and had this obscure WWII reference.

It seemed like an untapped resource and caught my eye as soon as I read the description. All I kept thinking was what in the world is a WWII Quonset hut? I felt like I needed to read this book just to find that out!

When her twin sister was murdered, Murphy Anderson changed her name and appearance and moved to Kodiak to avoid the press and publicity. But when local authorities discover she’s an artist and request her help in drawing a dying man’s memories, she unintentionally ends up in the limelight again—and may be back in the killer’s crosshairs. I am late to the party with this one. I bought this book when it first came out and it literally sat on my shelf for years. Many times I almost gave it away because I figured I would probably never read it.

It was once of those books that looked good at the time and had a great cover but the title was long and just sounded weird. Yet I bought it anyway.

Then the Netflix movie came out and everyone was raving about this book all over my social medial platforms. It was once again everywhere and everyone wanted to read it so I decided to jump on the bandwagon and read it before watching the movie.
