When I saw this one on Netgalley, I thought it was eye catching and sounded interesting so I downloaded it. Then I got the pitch for it a couple of weeks later and suddenly I moved it up on my review timeline.

I had already planned to review this one in July but wasn’t planning on reading it until a little closer to the release day, but then all the news started breaking about the upcoming film and I moved this baby right on up!

Review: Rakes and Roses (Mayfield Family #3) by Josi S. Kilpack

I have recently read two wonderful proper romances by this particular publisher and I was eager to read another. The cover is beautiful and I thought the premise sounded interesting.

I haven’t read the other books in the series but from what other reviewers had said, they could each be read as standalone books and I would agree. I didn’t feel lost or anything picking up the third book.

Review: Promised by Leah Garriott (Audible Edition)

A few months back I did a special feature on this book and I just couldn’t get the cover and description out of my mind! I knew my review schedule was packed, so I downloaded it to listen to when I had errands to run.

That’s the thing I love most about audiobooks, there are plenty of days that I have to run errands or just need to get out of the house and go for a drive during the quarantine or days where I have house work to do, rather than sit and read, I multitask with audiobooks.

I rarely accept audiobooks for review because I want to pick books that I maybe had my eye on or maybe I was just in the mood for or perhaps they were on my TBR for years, in other words, it’s my ‘just for fun’ outlet for reading. I was totally in the mood to read this sweet proper romance so I downloaded it and started listening on my way to do a Costco run! I fell head over heels in love with this cover and couldn’t wait to start reading it. The cover reminds me of a Jane Austen novel and the summary boasted a charming and sweet romance—-a tough one to resist for certain!

I picked this one up early one morning and could have easily finished it in one sitting if life hadn’t interfered! As it was, I finished it in two sittings and was scouring the internet looking for more books by this new to me author.

When I started reading the Sebastian St Cyr books from beginning to end in December, I had this book in the forefront of my mind.

I had really jumped around in this series over the years and that often left me feeling a little confused as to different character relations. I was tried of feeling lost in the series, so before this book came out I went back and read the entire series beginning to end starting in December.

There wasn’t a single minute that I regretted that decision. I loved all of the books, though some were better than others, I still enjoyed watching the characters evolve and change.
