Review: Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel

This novel has been getting a lot of hype on social media. It’s Stephanie Wrobel’s debut novel and it sounds dark and addicting. Which is exactly why I wanted to review it.

I mean, I am not going to lie, the main character’s name was Rose Gold and that was made clear in the summary and all I could think of was ‘gag me!’

I honestly wasn’t sure I could get past the name situation but I was eager to read this one all the same because it had all the complicated mother/daughter issues mixed with some psychologically thrilling elements so I was willing ot at least try and look past the name ‘Rose Gold’. Review: The Woman in the Mirror by Rebecca James

By all accounts this book was practically guaranteed a five star review. It had all the things I love in a Gothic tale…..the wild Cornish coast with foggy/misty mornings, a broken hero, a dark secret, an innocent but curious heroine, and so much atmosphere.

It sounded like a modern Victoria Holt novel and I just couldn’t wait to crack it open! I have read only one other book by this author, Sweet Damages, but it was so long ago that I read it, that I can’t quite recall all the details but I remember that it was more of a modern Gothic tale.

This book mixes modern Gothic with classical Gothic in the duel storylines so I think it will appeal to a lot of readers, especially if you love the Gothic and ghosts! Continue reading “Review: The Woman in the Mirror by Rebecca James”

Review: You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen

The first book I read by this team was their debut, The Wife Between Us, and I loved it. I thought it was a wild ride full of twists and turns and I couldn’t wait to read more by them.

I missed their second book, An Anonymous Girl, but I had no plans to miss this one if I could help it so you can imagine how thrilled I was to check this one out!

The hype for this book is real right now. It’s everywhere and everyone seems to be talking about it so of course there was a part of me that worried about all the hype it as getting, but I also know that this team writes twisty novels so I was hopeful that I would really enjoy it! Review: The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James

This book has been everywhere lately and with good reason! I have been a fan of Simone St James for quite a while. I read The Broken Girls a couple of years ago and then quickly binged the rest of her books, loving each and every one!

When I saw that this book was coming out, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! This is one of those authors and books that received a ton of hype and while sometimes I am weary of overly hyped books, this was one I was sure to love. All of her books have been great and I knew I had nothing to fear from this new release!

I sat down one afternoon and read it so fast that I was shocked to look up and find that it was dark outside! Not to mention I was cold and that wasn’t because it was cold in my house….this was a spine chilling book! Continue reading “Review: The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James”
